Looking for an English-Speaking Church in Taoyuan?

If you’re an English-speaking Christian in Taoyuan (downtown, the arts plaza, or surrounding areas) looking for fellowship, Bible study, or worship—you’re not alone. We’re a small, new initiative (just my wife and me for now) hoping to connect with others and possibly begin regular gatherings.

Get in Touch

Welcome!

If you’re living in Taoyuan and searching for English-language Christian Church, you’re not alone. Many expats, teachers, students, and families here feel the same way—Taoyuan is full of temples, Mormons, and Jehovah’s Witnesses, but finding a solid, Bible-believing Christian community in English is surprisingly difficult.

This simple site is a starting point created by my wife and me: a place for like-minded believers to connect, share, pray together, study the Bible, and — if there's interest — begin meeting regularly or even plant a new fellowship.

All are welcome: Protestants, non-denominational, evangelicals, or anyone seeking Jesus-centered community in English. No pressure, just honest connection as we begin!

Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God—the sole authority for faith and practice. It is to be interpreted literally according to its grammatical-historical meaning.

We believe in one God eternally existing in three co-equal Persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit.

We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, born of a virgin, who lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a substitutionary atonement for sinners, rose bodily from the dead, ascended to heaven, and will return personally and visibly.

We believe all people are born sinners and spiritually dead, unable to save themselves.

Salvation is entirely by God's sovereign grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone—not by human works.
- God sovereignly elects and draws sinners to Himself (unconditional election and irresistible grace).
- Christ died specifically for His elect, securing their full redemption (limited/particular atonement).
- True believers are regenerated by the Holy Spirit, repent of sin, and submit to Christ as Lord (Lordship salvation).
- Once genuinely saved, believers are eternally secure and preserved by God's power (perseverance of the saints).

We believe the Holy Spirit regenerates, indwells, sanctifies, and empowers believers for godly living and service. Miraculous sign gifts ceased after the apostolic era.

We believe in believer's baptism by immersion as a public testimony of faith and obedience, and in the Lord's Supper as a memorial of Christ's death.

We believe the church is the body of Christ, to gather regularly for worship, teaching, fellowship, and the ordinances, under the leadership of qualified elders.

We believe in the future bodily resurrection of all people—the saved to eternal life with God, and the unsaved to eternal judgment.

This faith is centered on the glory of God in salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Affirmations & Denials

1. On Church Leadership
We affirm that the local church should be led by qualified men serving as elders/pastors, who rule as servants of Christ (1 Timothy 2:11–12; 5:17; Titus 1:5–9).
We deny that women may serve as elders, pastors, or exercise authoritative teaching over men in the church assembly.
2. On Spiritual Gifts
We affirm that the Holy Spirit sovereignly bestows non-revelatory gifts today for the edification of the church (Romans 12:6–8; Ephesians 4:11–12).
We deny that miraculous sign gifts (such as tongues, prophecy, and healing as apostolic signs) continue today, as they ceased after the apostolic era and the completion of the New Testament canon (1 Corinthians 13:8–10; Hebrews 2:3–4).
3. On Marriage
We affirm that God ordained marriage as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, reflecting Christ's relationship with His church (Genesis 2:24; Ephesians 5:22–33; Matthew 19:4–6).
We deny that same-sex marriage (or any union outside of one man and one woman) is a valid marriage before God; it is contrary to His created order and an abomination (Romans 1:26–27; Leviticus 18:22; 1 Corinthians 6:9–10).
4. On Human Sexuality
We affirm that God created humanity male and female, and that sexual intimacy is reserved exclusively for marriage between one man and one woman (Genesis 1:27; Hebrews 13:4).
We deny that homosexual behavior, transgender ideology, or any sexual activity outside biblical marriage is acceptable or consistent with God's will.
